Usually what i do (probably not the best thing) is i just force quit the app - it drives me crazy waiting when i have things i need to do - so at least that’s fairly instant. Though i have found some GI settings in R16 that seem to not have all that pre-pass stuff or at least not so insanely long ones It’s incredibly painful with R15/R16 when using the Distributed Renderer too… it’s taken longer to stop the render then it has to let the render complete 100% (with higher numbers of TR Clients it is worse too) When i have long GI type things with all those pre passes X of X - that is how long it takes for me too Is there any way to tell when it is in the process of stopping? If this is in the manual please forgive me, I can’t look it up because my computer is stuck rendering something I don’t want and I can’t get it to stop. (an old one) Escape!, whatever I do the render eventually asks me if I want to continue, but it seems to take forever.Įven when I return to see a render that is on pass 54 or whatever and I need to stop it, it take a very long time.

I find it impossible to STOP a render (of any kind, picture viewer, area render, whatever) I click the stop button, I type command B, control B, option B, command. Whenever I make a mistake (wrong settings, forgot something, etc. I am working with a very large document that has a long render time (about 2 hours for a single frame - most of the time spent ‘preparing’) Anyway - though I would like a shorter render, that is not my problem. I am running C4d R14 on a Mac System 10.6 I would really appreciate some advice about stopping renders in C4d.
